fabricating plate to hold mechanical handbrake caliper
John G - 31/5/15 at 02:12 PM

I need to fabricate a plate to hold my wildwood mechanical handbrake calliper to the hub. Any recommendations on thickness of material, alloy or steel?
Any supplier of alloy or steel plates?
Does anyone know of a suitable supplier or a company that could CNC cut a set of plates to my design?
Regards, John.

Doesn't the rally design website have a diagram with the sizes and some blank or bespoke brackets to help?

The plates on my Sylva are about 6mm (I can measure them), they are fabricated steel. There are lots of on line cnc plasma cutting services these days. You just send them a .dfx file from a drawing package and back comes the goodies. Then just weld them in place.

Thanks for the heads up, I've had a look and the bracket would need a lot of cutting to sit round the hub. I am after a flat plate with a fairly complex shape to join the two together so probably something cut with a water jet or plasma cutter. Still making up card templates to work it all out.
