custom tie rods info needed

hi all, i`m needing to reduce my escort steering tie rods about 15mm... anyone know who does shorter tie rods or adjustable tie rods...OR any other way i might sort the problem out

You can't do that on Ford M14x2 tie rods as the thread form is rolled into the tie rod which is 1/2" (12.7mm) dia bar stock.

10mm dia is not a good idea. No production car has steering tie rods of less than 12.5 mm dia. Thinking it of as tie bar is misleading in design terms the failure mode for a steering track rod is buckling under compression, for stress analysis purposes it fits Euler's model of a slim strut with pinned ends.

Ah right.

Remove 15mm from further inboard,machine out holes in the centre and press in some smaller diameter bar and then weld it up be a option?
