Just wondering what the tried and tested guys are running on their cars.
I know car weight is important so please state this. Competition car info preferred.
I am expecting to be changing my Current 300lb front springs to mid or low 200lbs following some calcs and chats to a few people.
Rears will probably stay the same at 225lb.
i am going to fit caterham S3 ARBs as a starting point. Hopefully nice and soft and from a car of similar weight, 540kg.
What size springs you running Bizzle, I have some 2 1/4, 225lb 9'" long ones that I would like to swap for some that are around 300lb.
I run 250 fr, 225 rear.

I did not do much calculation but I can tell you it works wonderfully at Kames sprint track 99.6s last MSA timed run. Of course it is a J15.
226/326 550Kg total

When we were building our Phoenix we asked our friend Tim Gray ( Multiple Locost, RGB and Bikesports Champion )
He said to go 250 all round. So we did.
Chassis supplied with 180fr / 130 rr, but that was way too soft.
Currently on 225 Fr / 180 Rr with front ARB, live axle rear, which is a good compromise.
Was better on 275 fr /225 rr on track, without the ARB but too stiff for regular road use (my old steel s/a AVO shox prob a factor too).
Stylus, 625 KGs

I use 225 front with an arb, 125 rear with a live axle on a striker. It handles well I won class 2A in the service hydraulics championship, so it
works for me.
Jim Spencer won about every championship going a few years ago using the same setup.
John Bradshaw also competes in a striker and I'm sure his rears are around the same.
The shocks are protech ones that have been valved to suit the car. My car weighs 490kgs.
Hope this helps
