So I have a QR three hole steering wheel boss but would like to move the wheel 30mm closer... Spacers are not cheap but I do have access to a 3D
printer... Thoughts on a solid fill plastic spacer... Thoughts are that being a sandwich block strength not a concern....
Am I mad?
When I wanted a steering wheel spacer I got an Ali round off cut it was only 15mm thick though . I cannot remember which company it was but it was a company on e bay that cut to your sizes I think they were in Devon or Cornwall
I have a 3d printer - I would not use it to make anything as mission-critical as a steering wheel spacer. There are too many potential failure
points.
I bought an aluminium one...
Id sooner use a spacer tube and extended bolts that a plastic spacer!. Not some where to cut corners. Dig deep or dig car out of ditch.

Hmmm.... Maybe not then.... We have an industrial 3D printer that spits out quality parts... Even takes a kit from a hammer....
I do a fair bit of printing and I reckon PLA would be too brittle and ABS too flexible, unless you a printing with some super duper materials I wouldn't trust it even on 100% infill.

Ive used this place for a couple of spacers, for my boss to steering wheel
not sure they can cut a 30mm one, but can do 3 x 10mm, in alui, and that's how I got round the problem

I asked my local engineering company to make me exactly what you are talking about. As long as they have the alloy bar of a suitable diameter, It's fairly simple and inexpensive.
