Sierra Rear Calipers
Patten - 1/7/16 at 10:08 AM

Morning eveyone,

So took apart my Sierra calipers on the Fury last to check they were actually working.. (8% efficiancy on our IVA)

Hydrolics side of thigs work fine, but the handbrake mechnisim is shot.. Took a gamble with these a few years back as procured them of eBay

Can anyone point me in the right direction as to where to buy a new set?

Best price so far is £188 inc Vat and Delivery from Godspeed

Thanks
Chris

Get them reconditioned - it's cheaper

I can recommend the guys at biggred, but any decent motorfactor will do exchange ones

I do apologise, damn VAT.

I dont think that includes the handbrake mechinism part

I think Godspeed is the winner at the moment as they suppley the pair brand new, without exchanging

Spoke with Bigred and there refurb charge comes out about the same

I'd check with a local motor factors first before ordering. They could well be cheaper.

Just be sure to adjust them correctly... Fit+bleed then pump the footbrake hard several times to opperate the adjuster BEFORE pulling the handbrake.

Thanks Adrian, will do.

Oh and thanks for the u2u re. PCIII setup for emissions

Managed to develop suitable fast idle map with lots of -27's but totally forgot about the idle, does the IVA tester make sure the lambda and HC stay in the same range as the fast idle during this part of the emissions test, or are they just checking the CO

adithorp - 1/7/16 at 02:07 PM

The idle test is just CO% so a lot easierto achieve. Getting the Lambda steady between 0.97-1.03 without closed loop control is an art form. You might well have to fiddle with the map at IVA

Patten - 1/7/16 at 02:13 PM

Oh thats good..

Fat chance of that. We had two IVA testers back in March...

One much younger correcting and pointing out issues that the more experienced tester didnt spot. It felt quite awkward because you could tell that the more experienced examiner was telling him to go away in his head but couldnt say that infront of me haha

At least I got my £450 worth..
