Hi
I have been looking for sierra to get the rear from, but uncertain which model to get.
I have found one local very cheep but it is a 1.8 with drum brakes can these be changed to discs from a differant model?
not easily is the answer, i believe. The drum and disc cars have diffferent halfshafts, either lobro or tripode type, hence the diffs are different too. But on the bright side, you dont need discs anyway (IMHO and allegedly) nowt wrong with a 1.8 donor, except the engine, which wants binning!
i used the driveshafts from my 1.8cvh sierra, and got some brackets from darren (GTS), and got hold of some rear callippers from another sierra ant
they bolt straight on.
the things you need from the drum braked sierra are:
diff, driveshafts, hub, bearings. all you need from the disc braked sierra is the callippers as far as i can remember.
all the best,
Tom
discs?
