Afternoon all,
I've never been happy with the front or rear suspension geometry of my MK Indy (won't be much of a surprise to many), especially the lack of
fine camber adjustment on the front, and the rear toe. I've had to 'ballpark' the latter with shims on the hub carrier. Not ideal.
I feel like I need to add camber adjusters on the front, and rose joint the rear.
My question is, what part of the rear suspension would I rose joint? I don't want to bind up the wishbones by only adding rose joints on half the
lower wishbone for example. But from a practical standpoint, would this really be an issue given the small adjustment needed?
If anyone can help, it would be appreciated. I then need to find someone to do the necessary work! Any suggestions?
James
I did this last winter to my mac1 due to massive differences in rear toe.
I made up all new wishbones front and rear, top wishbones have in-situ camber adjusters, lower rear ones have rose joints on both outer fixing points
to the uprights and a jack screw in line for toe adjustment so it can be done without splitting any joints etc
Also converted over to 1/2 UNF bolts/bush tubes on the inner joints to chassis.
Don't your front upper wishbones have a threaded Transit drag link (ball joint) at the hub? Mine did and these were used to set the camber.
For the rear toe I used shim washers between the MK uprights and the hub carriers. Maybe not perfect, but it corrected the toe settings and improved
the handling of the car.

The trouble with those standard adjusters apart from the fact you need to split the balljoint out of the mushroom to adjust the camber you can also
only do one full rotation of the transit drop link of adjustment,so if you are really lucky you might land that you can set the camber to what you
require!
My lower rear ones;

MK sell them, about £80 each.
Did you do those yourself Kev?
Would be good to see any MK owners who have modded this themselves.

Thanks guys!
CosKev3 - that is exactly what I have in mind. I might have to steal your wishbone toe adjustment idea!
The issue, as stated above is that the front upper wishbones with droplinks don't give the appropriate camber - it changes about 0.4 degrees with
each rotation of the droplinks. It's impossible to match left and right cambers.
Thanks guys, something to think about!
