As per title really, looking at some new tyres and unsure which to go for, has anyone had any experience of both? They are for my Dax so will be in 17". I use it mainly on the country roads always in dry with occasional track day. Thanks Sam
I've used both the original 888r and the new R888r. I'd go for the new ones; At least as good grip and more temp stable, so takes a lot more before they overheat on track and should you ever get caught in the wet (or even just an unexpected puddle) perform a lot better. Only down side is they take slightly longer to warm up.
If you can get the size Nankang ns2r are a good road and track tyre demon tweeks are well priced

I’ve got Nankang Nr1’s, super sticky and super sexy tread pattern. Under £100 each too.
Just switched from R888 to Nankang AR-1, can't comment on performance yet as I only fitted them yesterday, but reviews suggest they should perform slightly better, and they're a bit cheaper as well.
I replaced Michelin cup 2's with r888r's on my DB7, they grip well however after only a few sprints, at most three the fronts are nearly
shot when the cups lasted a full season.
Grip fantastic, wear rate not so good... Worth 1/2 second in the first 64yards.
Which is why they wear like they do on a heavy car
Thanks for replies a set of 888r will be on order. Did look at others but these work out more due to the fact my tyres are pretty big for a 7 style car as most rushes are.
