So I like don't seem to have any suitable jubilee clamps for this but do have some very large tie wraps is this suitable for an MOT?

cheers

Feels very tight...

yup, it,s normally what you get with aftermarket boots, i have used loads of them for mot repairs.

I've previously used ones with a steel insert in the ratchet mechanism which is much stronger. Not sure you can still get them now though.

ok nice thanks tbh I quite like the tie wrap option when I put it on

Yup. Ive done it and its been through a few MOT`s now. And I also used a bicycle puncture patch on the brand new boot that I put a screwdriver through aaaaargh

Surprisingly worked well too.

I had to do them like that on the wife's old Clio for an MOT the next day...

... they were still on it 4 years later when it went for scrap

(I hate Clio's - so no way I was touching them again if they didn't fall off)

I did on SWMBOs last car for an MOT 3-4 years back. Car passed the MOT and rattled on for a bit before it was part-ex'd with the tie wrap still in place doing fine.
