Now the clearance is equal each side
Great on the road, will hopefully get a chance to try on track within a few days
In order to centre a new rotor in the caplier, I'm hoping to get a 1mm shim made to go between the hub and the bell
Is that an acceptable thing to do, if so what material would be best?
Can they be bought off the shelf even?

Not an uncommon thing to do. Often found on Jaguar back axles. However may be easier to shim the caliper. If you use a soft shim there is a danger of
the bolts coming loose. You cab buy shim stock in sheets - I think that is generally a hard steel.

I too would shim the caliper.
You can buy shim washers in various thicknesses.
I used Shim washers to correct the rear toe on my MK Indy as the rear wishbones didn't have toe adjustment.
The bolt orientation on the CP5200 calipers means shims allow for an increased disc diameter
I'm going to stick with 320mm discs for now, but I'm switching to a 32mm thick disc
The current setup I have centres a 30mm disc
AS another solution:
If you're fitting different rotors can you not get different bells to suit the calipers and rotors, providing the correct centres?

The shims allowed me to run used Tarox discs, that I somehow picked up for a fiver
They were covered in surface rust when I got them, so I lazily allowed a set of used pads to clean them up
However, even when clean, the Tarox are destroying pads at an alarming rate
Has anyone else had issues with Tarox?
Not Tarox specifically, but when I put EBC grooved discs on my Vauxhall Cavalier (I was young and naive, don't judge!), I was replacing front pads more often than I was replacing the tyres. After the third set of pads I admitted defeat and went back to solid.
