guys,
in a moment of madness i bought via the dreaded ebay two old style mini hand brake cables. These don't have outer sheaths. I've just seen an
allegro cable thats identical to my mini ones. So.....
where / how do i get 'an' outer sheeth to modify for my car?
I can't remember mini cables having an outer. I know they had a drum nipple in the middle that goes into the quadrant on the radius arm which would stop you fitting an outer.
damn, forgotten about that bit on the mini cable (left them at work)
Looks like i'm going to have to sell them and either get allegro cables (making sure they have outers) or do something else.
Has anyone bought allegro cables? Did they have outers when you bought them?
Depends a lot what rear brakes you are using -- for Escort or Capri axle if you can't get Austin Allegry ones easily look at those on the
Rover 216Gti (the one with rear discs)
The other solution is a late model Ital cable.

Try your local motor factors they should be able to get Allegro cables easily enough. Very early Mini's did not have a nipple in the middle as they never had a quadrant, they just used a conduit
believe it or not, my local motor factor had a pair, BC805... £12.75 inc vat the pair
