Has anyone used these shocks? I ordered some in January, should have asked the question before I did I guess. They haven't arrived yet though.
Production has come to a halt in my garage and I'm itching to get on with the car but can't do a lot more until shocks arrive.
I'd be interested to know what people reckon to them. I ordered the ones witrh adjustable platforms. I only intend to use the car for the road
not the track.
Cheers
Jon
Jon, I am real tickled with mine. Darren has what I believe to be the best deal on shocks out there. If it means anything, I live across the pond .
I am looking forward to getting mine on the road too, shouldn't be too much longer.
David.
I have some, their great. Though i haven;t driven it yet.
They are specially made for the locost, designed around the book chassis, and the other chassis's.
Well worth the money, cheap too!!!!!!!!
How long did you wait for yours?

I'm lucky to only live 20 mins from him... so 20mins
can you adjust the damper settings as well?

correct for what weight of engine????
I presume they are valved to suit a "book" car with crossflow, 4 spd box, iron bellhousing etc etc.
On a heavier car this would be of less consequence but on a light car like this the damper settings are really important!
No doubt that his shockers will be at least as good if not better than a certain other brand of adjustable yellow shocks though!
On the GTS site there is a parcel traking service, but when I orderd from them i didn't get an reference numbers etc. for using it.
Same here. Just 'phoned them up and they'd forgotten to log my order! I ordered them in January! They said they should be here by Tuesday at
the latest!

Seen someone else do that. Good idea, but I'm fundamentally lazy and I like bolting on shiny new bits. I've managed to keep any real
fabrication to a minimum! It's not so much 'build a car for £250' but 'build a car with minimum effort'. I guess at some
point though I'm going to have to get my finger out!
By the way the car is nowhere near finished but it looks like a car and is almost ready to roll!

Blimey- you must have nearly finished the car then!
Just make up 4 12" lengths of 1" RHS to act as shocks- then you can get on with the rest of the car.
HTH,
James
Lenghts of RHS in place of damper units when building the car, also has the advantage that the car remains solid and stable as you continue to work on it.
