hi,
about to order fuel pipe for book standard locust (though may have zetec). how many meters fuel pipe will i need?
any experiance welcome. many thanks in advance.

Got my fuel pipe from B&Q
10 mtrs of 8mm copper pipe in plumbing section for £11

not bad idea, but guess would stilln need some flexi bits for the corners/matings.

It'll bend no probs around a beer bottle diameter (theres always one handy) you can also solder it onto pipe fittings if you have the originals.

any issue with nylon p-clips? cheap as from maplins.

best not be. i've used loads of the buggers!

can't see any real reason for them to be frowned upon though

..in the 3 most common forms (PA6, PA66, and PA11) are highly resistant to petrol and solvents.

Though I can tell you that they don't stand up to Hydrogen Peroxide.... not that it should cause any probs for you!!

Some meshes in preliminary fuel filters are Nylon...

If you want a true lo-cost option though, Vauxhauls use a plastic (and rather flexy)
fuel pipe... Try stripping the lines from a couple of Novas... that should see you getting it to the right places without too many problems..

I wondered about using the vauxhall fuel pipe idea but will probably use copper so its allnice and shiney when i build it..

I tried the astra fuel line, and scrapped it in favour of galvanised 1x8mm steel. The plastic stuff tends to kink, and when it does, you cannot get it out, probably OK for straight runs, but be careful of even the slightest curve
