The book strikes again.

Currently using the 2nd edition book.

fig 4.35, page 64
The diagram states the distance between holes/trailing arm centre lines to be 5.75" or 146mm

fig 6.2, page 72
The diagram says that the distace between the trailing arm holes is 135mm - 25mm = 110mm


Correct me if I'm wrong but the trailing arms should be parallel, which means that there is a staggering 36mm difference between the 2.

Which measure ment is correct?

I did my brackets last weekend and noticed this. I built a jig to position the brackets and align the axle so that all would work as it should. First time i drilled the jig to the book measurements I could see it was a MILE out! Re-drilled the jig and all's fine.

I was lucky with this one and found out about the anomily before cutting and drilling the brakets.
