Nothing comes out of the front port on the MC of my part built MK locost meaning no front brakes. Is a home rebuild possible or is replacement the best bet? Thing is Ive no idea what it came from - its attached to a servo (are there servo and non servo MCs?)and is marked:-

Could be a few things things -- (1) the front piston in th master cylinder is stuck at full travel or (2) the recuperating seal in the front circuit is goosed or (3) the pedal push rod isn't allowing the master cyilnder piston to fully return..

(1) remove and drain master cylinder and try blowing back the piston with low presure air (take care) -- if that dosen't work strip the cylinder.
(2) is the easiest to check take the lid off the master cyilder and get some body to push the pedal down --- the the fuild level rises slightly the seal is gone.
(3) is very common on home built cars with home made master cylinder push rods.

Well Ive taken the cylinder off and the front port still does nothing which I think discounts (3) and I didnt notice (2) happening before so I guess a strip down is in order - presumably to get a refurb kit Ill have to know what MC it is - how can I find out?

Try getting hold of a new (scond hand from a known donor car) MC of near equiverlant spec. to the one you already have.
