Anyone made there own ? I,m fed up of begging and borrowing but find the price's a bit high, before i set too and make my own as anyone else ?
care too share your idea's ?
mine involves a bit of angle iron, a spirit level and a plumb line.... i have thought of the later digital levels, are they any good ? any
recomendations on them ?
I picked this up from somewhere - can't remember where, so apologies to the original author...
David
All you need is a knowledge of basic trig a decent spirit level of just over a foot long , a level surface and a few shims of between 1/16"
and 1/2" thickness made out hardboard,MDF or metal.
Over a 14" span 1 degree camber equates to very close to 1/4"
Made one, basicaly its a "straight edge" that i hold up to the wheel with a plumb line hanging from the top 100mm from the wheel, butcherd a
steel rule n fixed to bottom of straight edge with the 100mm mark lining up with the plumb line when vertical at 90*, from there its calculator time,
seems to work ok, got loads a camber on left hand side for Mallory, well not loads but more than normal.
btw Dave, could'nt get that file too download, maybe its just me cos i see plenty have.
