would 3/8" heim joints be strong enough for suspension arms?

I have a lead on a set of 40 3/8" male heim joints pretty cheap. worthwhile?

That's like asking if a 3/8" bolt is up to a specific job. What are they rated at? Are they aluminium, brass, mild steel, alloy steel, or stainless steel.
A 3/8" rod end can vary in URL between 17400 and 49000 Newtons which could be the difference between downright dangerous to complete overkill.

Exactly as Rorty says, the quality/spec of these things varies immensely!

I can get very cheaply some 3/8" rod ends in the uk, but they are mild steel ones.

Fine if you oversize them for a job but not if they are replacing a chrome moly one of the same size.

Depends a lot on the type of loading too. Ratings are quoted in direct tension, loadings rarely are and bending loads cause rodends to fail much lower than their ratings.
