English axle / irs
kabaman - 11/11/02 at 11:13 AM

I have a Ford Anglia 105e with a 2.9i engine and 4 speed. I have never managed to get an english axle with lower gearing and LSD for a decent price. Can anyone tell me anything about a cossie siera back end. Do these have LSD's? do they mount on a beam? What is their track? If anyone has any suggestions on a likely IRS with LSD replacement can they please tell me about it.
Cheers,

Neil

The Cossies are independant suspension and maybe difficult to fit without big mods, you really need a live axle- the only one I can think of which has a LSD is the 2.8 capri, which maybe too wide or a special(Quaife?)MK2 escort, these wont be cheap tho...

Sounds like your problem it the 4speed gearbox, the highest ratio of which will be 1:1. What you need is a 5speed gearbox which will have 5th gear in the region .8 (as are most Ford 5speeds). You will then have a much wider choice of suitable axles
