Batteries
bigandy - 31/3/05 at 10:34 AM

Morning all.

Does anyone know any places where I can get the sizes of car batteries online (read, stuck in work with only a net connection between me and insanity!)?

I'm after something that will happily crank a 1600 4a-ge over, and drive the headlamps/ecu/fuelpumps etc etc. but I only have a maximum of 6"x9" (150mmx225mm) to play with. Height is less of a problem mind.

Also, what are people doing to tie their batteries down? I don't like the thought of a few kilos of lead and acid flying round!

cheers
andy

Try an Odyssey PC625.

Westfield use them in their new Duratech cars so you can get an ally batery tray from them for £30ish

I just bought one from these people below at £67 including VAT and carriage!! Bargain! Everyone else wants over a ton for just the battery.

"Please would you call Lorraine at Powervamp on 01934 643000

You will need to give her my name and pay them direct. (david nelson)"

Click on the technical data button under Blue Dynamic for capacity and dimensions

That varta site is pretty useful, cheers. Just one thing though, how would I go about determining the capacity of battery required?

I'm guessing that the bigger the better, but what sort of Amp hour ratings are people using here?

Cheers
Andy
