Sierra Column Mounting

Just wondering on the best methods of fixing the steering column to the mounts on the chassis. The sierra column has big holes in the mounting bracket and I don't really want to buy the tophat reducer things (more expense). What have other people done... just used massive bolts!?

Nah, just small bolts (m8?) but large washers!

If it was good enough for 60K miles of Sierra it's good enough for me!

Cheers,
James

i filled the hole with a nut, and then a washer and nut to finish it off - the bolt i welded to the chassis.

bolts from behind with 2 plain nuts on the mouinting side which fitted perfectly into the column mounts, then large washers under the fixing nyloc nuts to make everything look pretty...

I just used the large and very thick washers which were fitted to the donor vehicle for the same purpose. I used M10 bolts and nylocs.

Cheers,
Craig.
