Hi Boys
Could anyone tell me why the inner (upright side) bearing/spindle is bigger on a spare pair of uprights that I have. The hubs from the original
uprights will not fit on. Are there different types or could the 'New' ones be off a Taunus or Granada or somesuch. They have the Ford logo on them.
The outer/hub side bearing fits no sweat. Mr Hicost told me also that 2.8i vented discs fit on no probs whereas I have had to make up a 6mm spacer
between upright and caliper. The original uprights came with M16 calipers so must be off a Ford presumably? This isn't causing me any problems, I just
would like to know why. The only problem I may have is if a wheel bearing goes but we have a good bearing supplier in town so that should'nt be a
problem. Hmmmmm?
acording to my book of words there was only 1 type of wheel bearing fitted from mk3 to mk5 cortina therefore you must have some foregin or maybee granada hubs
Hmmmm. Maybe john but which ones are which? I would assume that the Cortina ones are the smaller of the two. I think I'll measure the bearings and get a couple of spares to be on the safe side!
