Hi All,
I've been searching for the different options and I've found the Yokohama Advan 032R, the Toyo RA-1 and the Hankook Ventus RSS X211. All
other makes which do road legal soft tires don't seem to have any available, they're all bigger. Any others you may know about?
Cheers,
Alex
Toyo R888 - available in 13" and road legal. U2U me for a price.
afaik you are looking for tyres with a traction rating of A or AA. I think the temp rating is important as well.
R888's are getting good write ups, just more pricey than normal tyres. A lot cheaper than repairing the car tho'
I have a neighbour who is using the new formula compound Colways. He likes them. Im not sure though.
Thank you!
Would you ship them overseas?
I hope these are popular enough here in Spain to get a reasonable price but who knows.
Cheers,
Alex
I don't know about traction ratings, I now have A032Rs and I'm happy with them so I would be looking for a similar tyre unless I learn
otherwise from you guys. Actually I don't even know if the other tyres I've mentioned have comparable characteristics, maybe they are
different from what I'm looking for? Not sure..
Cheers,
Alex
yoko 048r - soft compound (won't last long, but road legal)
avon cr500?

ACB10s
Road legal competition 'slick' RB5 dry, v.dodgy in the wet! Loads of compounds, and cheeeeap, and in 185-60x13!
http://www.maxsport.co.uk/
btw. no connection with 'em whatsoever
I saw a cbr600 with some maxsport tyres on in different colours, yellow and blue. It looked like a circus clown bike.
You guys know!
Looks like I can get Maxspeed RB5s in Spain from here:
http://www.donspeed.com/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=30&products_id=411
185/60R13 is precisely what I need..
"Este producto esta en nuestro catálogo desde Monday 23 May, 2005"
This product is in our catalog since.. THREE DAYS AGO!!
Let's see the price I can get for Yoko, Avon and Toyo..
Thanks!

I mot'd my car on RB5 drys. Guy who did it races monoposto and didn't bat an eyelid. My rationale is that if they are legal for rally use on public roads they must be road legal full stop.

RB5s come in 5 different compounds: hard, medium, soft, very soft and extra soft.. Any clues as to which one would be similar to the Yoko A032Rs I
currently have? Not only I'm quite happy with those Yokos, also I need to replace 2 tyres only so I need to go for something similar..
Cheers,
Alex
I had a naffed up dream last night - i was offered an F1 tyre, it was a soft compound wet tyre, orange in colour but made of very soft squishy
foam!!!!!!! Must have been the carb cleaner!!
Interesting! ..While totally unhelpful!

Talked to a shop which sells them here.. all medium to extra soft are coloured, medium are red, soft are yellow, so I'm guessing all of them are
much softer then the Yokohamas? Bad news is they don't have the "hard" ones there in the shop, you need to order them without seeing
them first.
Emailed Maxspeed.. apparently, the compound which best matches my Yokos is the "yy", whatever that means..
Cheers,
Alex

Found out that "yy" stands for double yellow, which means very soft.
? - Hard
Red - Medium
Yellow - Soft
Y+Yellow - Very soft
Y+Y+Yellow - Extra soft
"YY" equivalent for Yoko A032R?? I doubt it..
The very softs are the equivalent to Yoko supersofts.

I have R888s on my kit car and they are very good preditable tyres. Braking has improved noticeably and they warm up quickly for a sem-slick tyre. I
paid £288 for a set of 14" tyres.
My neighbour has them on his modified Elise and so far he has won every sprint braking the course records each time so far this year.
What else can I say except I'm not related to Mr Toyo!!
