OK i've been given a box of bits for the front suspension/brakes. The questions are:-
1. The locking tabs for locking the discs to hubs bolts is missing along with the bolts. Will they be OK with thread locker on them or is there to much heat in the disc.
2. what grade of bolt to use 8.8 or 10.9
3. If I can't use thread locker can I wire them or should'nt I drill the heads.
4. Anyone got any websites on line for small bits and bobs like the aforementioned locking tabs/ hub nut castleated locking thingy's hub nut washer with the pip for the keyway etc etc

Use as strong bolts as you can get.

Yep that makes sense but they are in shear not tension so does that make a difference

Just checked and mine are 12.9 allen head. Recommended by the local nut and bolt specialist.

no no
are they in with loctite or spring washers cause a locking tab plate would'nt work on these.

Ahh sorry they aren't in but loctite was suggested.

It seems to me that despite the fact that it would have made economic sense for Ford to use Loctite on the bolts holding the discs on, they didn't. So they must have had a damn good reason for using locking tabs.

I wouldn't argue with Ford.
