PTFE and Brake Fluid

Does PTFE tape resist brake fluid? Any information would be helpful...

yeah, im pretty sure it does. on a car is born, he uses it, and i have done on my build to try and reduce leakage.

Shouldn't need it, if the only thing stopping fluid coming out is ptfe tape then there is something wrong with the joint.

Considering a lot of flexi hoses are lined with PTFE I should say it resists it....

Like Mark says though, you shouldnt need it....

are you sure hellfire that you putted down the skill levels an bit??

bloody hell imagine first coner at full throttle brake problem..

you know that if fuel is leaking the pressure drops as does the brake power..!!!

The short answer is brake fluid won't harm PTFE.
The problem is though, brake fittings are "dry" fittings and require only mechanical sealing.
If you introduce Teflon tape into the mix and are relying on it to prevent leaks, then you run the risk of a major loss in pressure at a critical time.
Iif you were to stand on the brakes, there is the possibility that the huge pressure in the system could blow out the tape with dire consequences. Not worth it.
