Hi all!
This morning I was really happy since my long awaited coilovers finally arrived. But after a while my mood changed to disappointed when I realized
that the springs I got for my shocks are way too short...
The total length of my shocks are 330 mm (13" ), same as the shocks for MK Indy but my springs are only ~150 mm (~6" ) high so the
adjustment of the shocks have to be at the highest position to keep the spring in place. I have also choosen the same spring setting as MK (350 front
and 200 rear).
Are there anyone with ProTech Shocks from MK Indy that can meassure the height of the spring so I know what I should order instead when I write the
company who sold me these? The length I am interrested in is the free length i.e. when the spring is without any pressure.
Thanks,
Mats
Could u not put the platforms at the lowest point then measure that?? Take half an inch or so off and get springs that length.
I'm not at home at the moment so I can't give you an actual measurement, but the Protecs that MK supplied me with have springs about 10mm,
(from memory) longer than the shocker at it's maximum extension.
ie you have to squeeze the spring about 10mm to fit.
I'll measure one tonight if you need more accuracy

In that case I would like to have 8" but I want to know what have been tested and really works in the real world.

That would be great! Then I wait with contacting my supplier until I have the "right" length.
Thanks!
My car has all suspension fitted, it's up on stands and the bottom ring is wound in showing 2 threads (not set up yet) I have measured the spring
(front) and it measured 8.5"
Hope this helps

Thanks! I have ordered 8" springs from my supplier. If that isn't enough I will solve that with some aluminium...
Ah well!!
Patience is a virtue, (apparently)
My springs have a free length of 8.5 inches

My supplier doesn't have 8,5" (at least not on the web page) so when choosing spring length I went for shorter instead of longer.
Thanks a lot for all of your help!
