I think i have a Girling book at work, gis the part no and i will try to match it up,has it got a plastic band with some numbers on it loose round the barrel? need that number as well
Bob look under lucas girling
Hi M8y
The cylinder its self has stamped on it: 646767810196 and the plastic tag: 68993 05 50/50 12GK.
It is a twin system with a single resivoir. do you know which out let is for the front or the read, i presume that the front out let is for the front
and the rear for the rear. dose it say what the split is Eg 60/40 front to rear??? i guess that the 50/50 on the tag means a 50/50 split?????
Cheers M8y
Rob
The outlets nearest the pedal are fronts,i will check it out tommorow and mail you back
its probaly easier to use the master that goes with the rest of the braking system cos bores and cylinder/calliper sizes are related.
cheers m8y
Sorry Bob forgot to take numbers in with me definatley tommorow
No worries M8y
Rob.
Hey Guys -
I was a Girling employee, working on suspension development, then on brake actuation design. Girling exists merely as a trade name now, used mainly in
India. LucasGirling, Lucas Automotive and Lucas Industries are now all defunct; firstly, there was the so-called merger with a US outfit called
Varity, then the takeover by another US giant, TRW.
Normally, for older braking equipment, I would suggest contacting TRW Automotive Aftermarket, for info. However, since they have been through several
bouts of re-structuring, right-sizing and staff re-deployment (out the door!!), God knows who is left, and who knows anything remotely techie.
Checking out the tag # you quoted, identifies this unit as Ø19.0 TVCV (dual system, Tipping Valve/Centre Valve). This is similar to the Escort Mk2
mcyl. The figures cast into to the mcyl body are the casting part #. Can find no info regarding original vehicle application.
Hope this helps.
