Just had a set of Yoko A539's put on my alloys. Problem is I thought you were supposed to line up the red dot with the tyre valve this hasn't been done on any of the tyres. is this a mjor problem and should i get the to change them

You're quite correct - but you do have to tell the fitter that's what you want done.

If he balanced them and there isn't much weight clipped or stuck on it doesn't matter. The dot is there just for balancing purposes. It makes the heavy or light spot in the tire. Which it is depends on the tire manufacturer.

No red dot is not the heavy point that is a yellow dot and goes by the valve. If you have a red dot as well by it goes by a notch/dimple on the rim marking the wheel low point.

Your fitter might well have put them on correctly - if your lucky

i have had a look i can't see any notch, would it be obscured by the tyre?
