What steeringwheel diameter?!?!
Mave - 26/2/03 at 11:02 AM

I know everybody has his own preferences, but I would like to know which diameter steeringwheel would be best for a car engined Seven. Is 260 mm too small? Is 300 too big? Is 280 perfect?
Any suggestions?????

Point is: is saw a nice RaceTech steeringwheel (260 mm) but I would like to know if it's too small for comfort.....

260mm seems to be the most popular

Depends upon so many things
How wide are your front tyres ?
What rack are you using ? (quick rack needs more grunt to turn than standard)
How strong are you ?
Are you going to be just racing ie all high speed stuff ? or doing a lot of low speed parking at Tescos ?
For what its worth mine is 280mm D . With a standard Sierra rack and 195 section tyres it works fine and looks good ( well I think so anyway but then I like 'em a bit bigger !.. oo er missus ! ))

I once drove a 105E Anglia from Basingstoke to a little place called Wivelrod, near Alton, with a pair of 10" Molegrips clamped to the steering column, as some kind folk had removed my nice new Mountney wheel while I was having a pint.
So that's the equivalent of a 250mm wheel.
