weight difference cortina/sierra uprights??

Does anyone know the weight difference between the uprights of a Cortina and a Sierra? The Sierra-uprights look so much heavier.....

Are the hub dimensions the same? (in other words, do Sierra wheels fit on Cortina hubs?)

Can only answer the second, Sierra wheels do fit Cortina hibs

Wheels, I'm fairly certain are compatible, PCD is certainly the same, offset you'd need to check on, but it should be the same IIRC. I can weigh my sierra uprights and hubs if you wish, but someone else would have to help with cortina weights.

The thing is, that I'm designing my own chassis/suspension. I am designing the suspension around the Sierra uprights, but was now wondering why I should use them. What's the plus?
Or why should I chose for Cortina?

O.k. one important plus of the Sierra is availability ofcourse......

Well, this has been touched on in the tiger forum, but as standard, the sierra has bigger and vented brakes. If you get some ABS uprights, they've got easy provision for wheel speed sensors for traction control/launch control. All of this can be added to cortina uprights though. The sierra uprights require considerable fettling before you can fit them, the bottom taper will need alteration, and you'll need some sort of adaptor for the top. Aesthetically, you can make your own decision.
