Hello everyone

In my global search after cheap and high quality dampers, i turn to you. Me and my locost build are located in sweden and the rumour says that UK is the best place to buy dampers. Is there anyone who can recomend a person och company that sells what I´m looking for? Due to my taste for speed i´ve shosen a heavy 2.0 litre engine as powerplant, therefor must the dampers handle a litle more weight than standard.

hi i got mine from a company called dampertech they do GAZ shocks think i paid £260 inc delivery for 4 coilovers adjustable of course. hope this helps

There is a bloke on ebay.co.uk who sells GAZ dampers (without springs) for £180 may post to Sweden if you ask him nicely! Very good service and the cheapest I found!!!

How much would a set of springs be to suit the ebay'd dampers?

a decent set of springs will cost about £110 including vat and dellivery.

to get the size you require set the front and rear at the ride height you want and measure bolt eye to bolt eye centres.
this is your mid way, so you will require roughly 2 inches either way this will give you your fully open/fully closed size.

I've always read that you want to aim for ride height being at 1/3 damper travel, so you get 2/3 travel in bump and 1/3 for droop.

I wanted to post a question of "How to determine the shock lenth" As I have made my wishbones longer and moved he shock location points.

What is the correct way to determine the shock length?

measure the shock location length (ie bolt centre to centre) with the car at ride height (normally bottom wishbones horizontal/parallel to floor) and then add on an inch or so for droop and make sure you have plenty of bump movement.

I'm having to change my front ally bodied protechs as i've gone from narrow to wide track
