Got myself a stuart taylor pedal box last week. Its going to a type 9 box.
Everything works well, except the pedal can fall to the floor (towards me) as there is nothing to stop it from sliding through the fitting on the type
9 release arm. Is there any issue fitting a spring to hold it in place? Worried about it continually pussing the release bearing a little and how
strong to make it.
could u not make up some sort of stop bolt which goes through the bulkhead to stop it>?
A spring will put hardly any pressure on the bearing and clutch.
Had exactly this problem myself last week, trip to the scrappy and a look at some older vehicles revealed some suitable springs that fit over the
central pivot of the pedal, one end cliped round the pedal shaft and just drilled a hole in the pedal box mount for the other end of the spring to go
in, sorry i cant remember what vehicle the spring i used cam off!! DOH!

Hi Mike,
pop round sometime, I have plenty of springs that will do the job
Nat
glad its not just me then.
also wondering how much travel you get at the release arm. Think i've got around an inch.
