Ask in the racing section. Escort only as far as I know as the Cortina is a lot wider track and would give a handling advantage or a weight disadvantage. If the diff is usable it might be alright for spares. Is it a front loading or rear, is there a cover plate bolted on the back? He could use your diff if he has the right casing. Check here.

Standard cortina was rear loading Salisbury

Theres a coverplate on the rear: sounds like iots a baby atlas/SAlisbury affair, and hence no good for 750MC.
