
Do you have to dismantle the hub to get the back plate off the Sierra drive shafts?
I've just stripped the axle and after undoing the four retaining bolts and pulling the shafts out of the diff the back plate is stranded between
the hub and inner cvj.
Theres only a little bit of interference, the hole in the back plate is about 2mm smaller than the outer cvj!

I seem to remember having a similar issue, I believe a good wire brushing and lubing of the shaft did the trick plus a bit of twisting heave hoing at
the same time.

Mine came out without any great drama , a good clean would help.
No they are not coming off. Ive cleaned the shaft up witha file and the back plates are still too small to come off. Looks like astrip down as the
rubber boots are cracked and need replacing anyway.
