Build is proceeding, but now working on front suspension. Will probably have to cut down (narrow) the Chev Chevette (N. American) rack to elude the
dreaded bump steer, as much as 3 to 4". Okay, 3 questions: 1) Does anyone know the length of a standard classic Mini rack, measured between
the knuckles (roughly mid-way in the gaitors)? 2) Does a Mini rack go AHEAD of the axles or behind them (i.e., is it a front-steer or rear-steer
rack)? And 3) the rough length of the steering arms on a Mini upright? I may be able to acquire one if it'll work, but there's no point
if it needs mods, too. Thanks
I can only answer 2) off the top of my head; the classic mini is rear steer, the rack bolts up to the front bulkhead (firewall) so is behind the front wheels.
