Hello
Just a quick question, what would you recommend paying for a nice shiny reconditioned LSD and drive shafts? my belief is it's from a XR4i 2.8
Many thanks
Neil
If it's from an XR4i then its not an lsd
sorry it's a XR4x4 2.8. does that make a differance?
The XR4i had push in shafts and a non LSD diff and drum brakes
The XR4x4 had bolt on type shafts and disc brakes and should have a LSD. the 2.8 should have 3.62 ratio
Cheers
Mark
As to how much it is worth - that would depend on what you are getting.
they can be had for £50-£60 straight off a car or a fully reconditioned one can be many hundreds. I would only pay hundreds for one with receipts to
prove that it was all new inside, even then it is doubtfull if it is worth it as a 100,000 miler is likely to be perfectly ok
Come to think of it a Quaife ATB is about £600 so if you have that sort of money that's the way forward.
Cheers
Mark

Get one from a Disco - better ratio, lighter and just as strong.
Or a sierra 4x4 estate

Many of the people selling Sierra 4x4 LSD's tend to put them on ebay. I've seen them go for not less than £130. 00 and as much as £187.00.
These are used 3.63 ratio. The 2.0ltr Sierra Saphire 4x4 LSD is 3.9 ratio.
Finding one outside ebay is becoming difficult.
I've seen rebuilt up for in excess of £400
So I guess £130 for a diff in good nick would be just about tolerable.

sold my 7.5 inch cossie LSD on ebay a month ago for £255!
No visable wear or damage on the internals and a de crap and paint up on the outside.
