... the less happy I am about the way the front brake hoses were fitted (not by me!)

The problem arises becaise the hole for the grommet through which the hose passes is slightly to big meaning the that grommet is not as tight a fit as it could be and can be poked out quite easily. That would result the hose rubbing on the side of the panel.

Looking for ideas how to solve this - is there a special grommet available?

I reckon the only fix is make a bracket so the hose end is mounted horizontally, not vertically so it does no go through 90 degress, that would require a short length of brake tube, but I think the rubber hose would then be too long (100 mm), in which case I'd probably go for custom length hoses

Ideas as always welcome.

Maybe simply move the hole further down so the hose enters the car horizontally. The let the cable loop back up inside the car body, assuming theres room.

Braided Hoses are the answer...

You can then secure the pipe to the side panel using the bulkhead fitting. Easier to remove etc etc etc....

Turn the bracket through 90* so the pipe exits straight through the bodywork if you have enough pipe spare.
