hi all

well I'm building my 2nd locost!

just been looking in the garage and found a full front end from a spitfire
( wishbone,uprights,brakes,calpiers)
the lot in fact

what every ones view on triumph set up?

and it would be locost as i already have them !

seem to recall it was standard on caterhams and lotus's (even f1 race cars) for a long time (while on the race cars).

Many a Formula Ford has used triumph uprights over the years. Nowadays they don't, but they did in days gone by.
Don't know if that helps your decision...

It would convince me though on the basis that it's a choice with a bit of heritage.

Triumph front ends were used widely on specials and kits in the 70 & 80's so must be OK. If you do use them make sure you oil the lower pivots not grease otherwise they'll seize. Cheers, Pewe

wasnt there alot of bad press about them being used by robin hood and that they werent strong enough ? i may be wrong though.

They should be strong enough - the Spitfire weighs about 700 kg!
