Corner weights - Again

Got a question regarding corner weights and associated spring platfrom adjustments.

At first the problem was that front left was 42kg lighter than front right and rear left was 32 heavier than rear right. This resulted in front left locking well before front right.

The rear balances near perfectly with small rear adjustments and the addition of driver weight (tool boxes, old parts etc. equal to my weight) and ends up about 14kg difference accross rear axle.

By adjusting the front spring platforms i have got the front corner weights 20 kg different (front right still bigger). However, due to the adjustements required the front of my car now sits at an angle! Its not much but i am wondering if i should wind back the springs to level it up but suffer the price of further unbalancing the front axle? How much difference accross an axle do people have?

Any ideas?

I am not sure but aren't the weghts supposed to only be measured diagonally? i.e. front left to rear right etc?

You can adjust ride height independently of corner weights. If the car sits lopsided, raise/lower both spring collars on one side of the car. The amount of adjustment will be different on front/rear shock due to the inclination of the shock on the front, but you get the idea- you should be able to maintain the corner weights.

My webpage has a section on cornerweighting HERE

Hope that helps...

Thanks Neil, beginning to make some sense now. I made the mistake of adjusting accross an axle rather than diagonally. Should be able to sort it out tonight. seem to have near perfect 50:50 front rear as it is but just need to shift it about a bit.

You are doing the measurements with yourself in the car aren't you? Probably best to have a half tank of fuel while making the changes.

I am simulating my weight with various heavy objects placed in the driving position.
