3 degrees positive camber on the rears
RichardK - 25/8/06 at 04:21 PM

Look like I've dropped a b*ll*ck and positioned the upper brackets a bit too close to the edge and I now have 3 degrees of positive camber on my rears, I don't suppose this is normal as the book says zero.

Why does stuff like this only happen when I decide that everything is right and so fully weld

Note to self, measure twice weld once

Cheers

Rich

Sounds too much the wrong way. I though 0-1 degree negative (tops leaning in) would be fine. 3 positive is out.

Sounds like a job for Mr Angy Grinder with those nice 1mm Slotting discs with some careful and steady hands.

Whats the consensus on cutting off the "ears" of the bracket and welding a new bracket on top of the old one, it would only be about 1-2mm higher, or cutting the bracket off completely and replacing with one in the correct position?

Doesnt sound too much of a problem.
I wouldnt want any Positive Camber let alone 3 degrees worth. Not good for handling on corners.

Cut the ends off the top wishbones and redo them, probably be easier than hacking the chassis.

Slot holes in bracket, weld washers over slots in correct location. Only good if the amount of adjustment needed isn't much though.

Thanks chaps, I think I will try to get the old ones off and reposition them. Wish me luck

Probably too late now, but i just saw a pic of your rear wishbones on another thread. Can't you adjust your rear camber by turning in the rod ends?
