Open diff to lsd diff

Hi All

Can I fit a open diff (push in) in a car that has a lsd diff (bolt on) in.

If so how

It must be similar to when i changed to an LSD from open but in reverse. Shafts, hubs and uprights. If you need the uprights to suit I have them here. The shafts and hubs went ages ago.

Plus, sell me your LSD please

It would be easier to just get a bolt on open diff in the ratio you want (or any ratio bolt on open diff and put the flanges in your desired push-in open diff) and change only the diff. Unless of course changing shafts is one of the reasons you want to do this.

so a non lsd bolt in diff flanges are different to lsd ones and would fit in

They're different on the inside of the diff, not the outside - so they dont affect bolt-on driveshaft choice.

But if you're open diff that you want to fit has no flanges (cos it's a push-in diff) you can't just fit the flanges from your LSD. You can, however fit the flanges from a bolt-on open diff to your push-in diff so you can use your existing bolt-on shafts (or just get a bolt-on open diff in the ratio you want with some of the money from selling the LSD).

This is all assuming the diffs in question are all bog standard 7" ones - not a mixture of 7.5"s, 2wd cossies, or the rare early push-in 7" with smaller internals than the rest.
