For a Sub 900lb(400kg) BEC...

All 4130 Chromoly

7/8" (22.2mm) diam. / .083 (2.1mm)wall For the Lowers

3/4" (19mm) diam. / .083 (2.1mm) wall for the uppers.

Sounds fine, no?

fine if all is designed well.

Bottom one will bend anyway if you use book design!

Are you experienced welding chromoly?
I presume you're planning to TIG or gas weld it...

Sizes look Ok, though I would be tempted with larger OD and thinner wall. Actual design is more important.

As has been said, welding and post welding heat treat (or stress relieve) is important.

I saw some realy strong wishbones on here recently... however...

The damage to the chassis was significant when he curbed it..

maybe softer wishbones would have been cheaper to fix or replace than half the chassis.......

comment ?

for my own one im making now, its going to be 7/8" 16g seamless all round. I would happily use 3/4" for the top ones.

I used 25mm o/d with 3mm wall, but my front bones are about 18" long!!!!

I'm using 25 mm wall 3 mm S235 (st37-2)
It will be prob. to strong but losing a wheel isn't most pleasant thing.
