Front Suspension springs- a question!

What are the benifits/ opinions of 1.9 ID and 2.25 ID units?
Any reason to go for 2.25?
Spring availability?

there seems to be a bigger range at the top end for 2.25 units.

On my car the top 'bones' run quite close to the springs, so adding more dia would make things very tight.
