
after removing the track rod nyloc nut to renew the suspension bushes, about to reassemble but ,
trying to tighten the locking nut again and the whole thread is turning, is there a nut under the bottom cap? make any sence/>?

The track rod can rotate in a ball joint near the steering rack.
There should be a flat surface somewhere on the rod itself just before the threaded part - put a spanner on this then try and tighten things up -
should do the trick.
put your jack under the track rod end and lift it up on it , then tightn the nut
I think you have to find some way of pressing the TRE into the taper of the steering arm so that friction stops the thing turning. Try a clamp from
under the TRE to the top of the steering arm.
BTW, you ARE using NEW nyloc aren't you ?
umm i was not using new nyloc but now you have said that! perhaps i will...
is there a specific grade of nut!?
Bolts seem to have all kinds of grades, but nuts seem to be just nuts!

the track rod has a taper that fits into t he steering arm - it is inevitably a bugger to get off and also when you come to do the nut, it is
notorious for spinning round as you have discovered.
put a jack under the track rod end and lift up - the friction will prevent it tunring.
if you have a plain nut, not nloc, then that would pull the taper in, you then remove and replace it by a nyloc.
the part into which the track rod end screws in will have a flat or hex machined - you simply hold that with a spanner, and do up the lock nut.
easy peasy.
