Your Sierra steering column downlink should be ok on the escort rack, the splines are the same in all respects (at least mine were)..confirmation anyone?

I kinda impulse bought a Escort MkII steering rack the other day of EBay and now wondering after trawling previous threads how to fit it. Is there any conclusive decision as to how they fit onto Sierra uprights i.e. what TRE's to use, extending the rack.
The std escort TRE's will fit the sierra holes, so no probs there. It will/may need extending to suit your track (will if its std sierra width) but that is a case of making/buying some trackrod extenders (M14 bits, female one end, male the other)
I take it that there's no issues with doing that for the SVA? Oh and will Sierra steering column fit the rack or will I need summat else?

No problems re the extension arms and sva apart from making sure you cover the locking nuts with suitable protection (rubber sleeving or similar) in
case of contact with Joe public
