Alumnium Rack mounts (rallydesign)

I'm trying to buy some aluminium rack mounts, but am just trying to find out whether they also need the rubber mounts like the stock steel ones do.

These are the jobbies, i've emailed rally design but they don't bother replying

Hopefully someone has used these!

I've seen a few of these fitted and they don't seem to use any rubber between them and the rack, just the rubber pad in the picture under the rack body.

They really look the business - wished I'd used them.

They will come with plastic spacers to use under the rack, if you find any play then slice up a pop bottle for the thin plastic and use that as shim material, works a treat, its strong firtually uncompressable and resistant to uv , oil etc

Hi the fact that the aluminum clamp is not a proper fit around the rack casing and you have to fine shim under the rack usualy means that when finished you only have a few areas of contact between the clamping unit and the rack wich leaves the rack no where as tightly held as if you had used the original clamps and some uprated bushes also from rally desighn.

Trouble is they dont look as bling as the ally ones so cant be any good can they .
