Am bored as my builds at a stop whilst I wait for parts so was gonna knock up some brackets and mount the rear diff. Was reading from this post which was a good idea I thought except now I dunno the chassis height in relation to the diff! I'm reckoning 5" to bottom rail at front so what about back end? Should it slope a bit so's not to lift (read that somewhere on here)and hence 6"? Bored, bored and thinking of things too deeply now I think

Put mine in as low as I could, nose 1/2" above the rail.

Got some card and made a template for the mounting plates, chopped a bit of 1/4" plate and welded it in, easy !

If I put the diff as low as then there's a good chance that the driveshafts won't be parallel to the floor. Is this not such a big problem?

i just tried to make them parallel to the ground. 4" rear ride height, 10" total wheel radius, so the diff outputs need to be 6" about the chassis rail. This also leaves space to bring the rear diffuser forward, if you are mad enough to bother with one.

Mines on 13" wheels, 5" ground clearance at the rear gives nearly parallel to the ground.

As I made all the IRS they are also parallel to the rear panel.
