Diff oil seals

Is there any trick to taking the old oil seals out of the diff? I can't seem to get them out. Tried what Haynes said " lever them out with screwdriver" but doesn't seem to work.
Any tips?

P.S don't forget tp measure the depth normally about 11mm though

you want a big screwdriver with a hex instead of round shaft. stick the blade under the seal and using a spanner on the hex part, rotate the screwdriver. (nver done it myself but seen it in a book so must be true)

I made a puller up to yank them out with. It was just a large head coach bolt and a bit of tube.

The seals are not a standard size, so you will need to get them ford.

Dont whack a screwdriver between the diff case and the seal or you will damage the seal seating in the diff...

Agree, I got mine out with one of these. Nothing else would budge them. Careful not to score the surface with the tool though.
