I've fitted new tyres to my car - Toyo Proxes T1S 195/50/15. They are a bit, shall we say "green". I've done about 4 miles on them, including some rapid acceleration and braking but they are somewhat lacking in grip compared with my old Pirelli P6000 tyres (which came free with the rims off eBay). What do I need to do to bed them in?

I had T1S's on my tin top, 195 45 15 and found they wore quickly and never had great levels of grip, espicially in the wet

You may have more luck on a 7 with properly set up suspension geometry but personally speaking I didn't get on well with them.

Doesn't help you much I know, but if they wear like they did for me, it wont be long before they have 'bed in' themselves!

The first 100 or so miles on T1-s are usually quite amusing. It's the release agent that causes them to slip slide about. Try a burnout or 2

got these on my daily runner (FTO) and would not buy them again, sorry. find that when they are warm and on nice warm sunny days they are great, but anything other than that they arn't. And in the wet they are terrible, like driving on ice. Its almost impossible to make a 'spirited getaway' without spending a while standing still! Gather the new T1r is supposed to be better though!! All of this is only my opinion though. Others may love them.

Ive got 225/50/15 Proxes T1R on my Tiv, and they seem fine.

I also agree that P6000s are a great tyre for the tintop: very good in the dry, and damn nearly as much grip in the wet!

i agree t1s's need a 100 miles or so to scrub in. after that found them really good on road and track. no complaints from me.
