I was just speaking to some mini hot rod chap and asked if they had suspension or were like go karts
he said suspension but there rubber trailing arms or something ?? not actual wishbone setup
anyone got any more info
is it road useable?
ta chris
maybe like an indespension unit on a trailer??.
Ray
never really looked at one so how does that work?
ta chris
ill do a google anyway
Think you'll find he means trailing arms with rubber bushes. Rubber trailing arms could be really entertaining!!!
ok so any good then
they were deff bouncing around like trailers I presume thats what they meant with the rubber blocks
Original Mini suspension uses rubber and aluminium cones for springing from the radius arms to the sub frame, probably he meant this. It's been in use on the road since 1959 with a brief interruption when hydrolastic was used.
Like this I think,

Those are the arms. The dry cones were effectively rubber springs. Fitted horizontal at the rear the whole suspension took up very little space.
Designed by Moulton who went on to make silly folding rubber sprung bikes.
Anyone remember Ho-Lo kits for minis or just cutting the odd 1/8" off the cones to lower minis.
