can anyone tell me if a sierra downlink fits an escort mk4 steering column and wheel?
Also from which sierra should i take the downlink to fit to a mk2 rack?

The mk4 'scort steering column has two UJs built in so it's completely different to the Sierra which uses a downlink.

The downlink off a mk2 Escort fits both the Sierra column and the escort rack.

what i mean is does the inner part of a sierra fit the crushable part of the mk4 so that i can use the smaller wheel and buttons.

Will the wheel and switches fit on the Sierra column without messing about. I have fiesta switchgear on mine and the steering wheel on the car I scavenged looked to have the same wheel boss as the sierra. My old Escort had a short section from the column to the rack joint and it would be easy enough to cut that and extend it with the Sierra down link and some tubing to take it to the steering rack.

The wheel will certainly fit. Not sure about the switches tho. Didn't know the Escort came apart? Certainly the one I broke last year was all in one from the wheel, through the crushable section, through two UJs to the rack connector.

Yes but if you cut the bar between the 2 ujs you can weld anything you want to the end of it.

well i've got a mk4 column, and the part that links the rack to the wheel (with the 2uj's) separates from the crushable part.

I just have 2 problems, the top part of inner piece, from the wheel to the top uj, is to short and the column doesn't actually fit the mk2 rack
